My learning process was uncommon: I studied Music and Sociology at the same time, and I began my musical studies at an age considered “late” by academic standards. That’s why today I can say with certainty that there isn’t a single path to learning an instrument.
The truth is it doesn’t matter at what age you start, whether you divide your time among different activities, or if you can’t dedicate yourself exclusively to the double bass. I’ve seen first-hand that it’s possible to reach your goals with a flexible method, adapted to your pace and your way of life.
I began my musical training at the José Luis Paz Conservatory in Maracaibo, Venezuela, while completing a degree in Sociology at the University of Zulia. Later, I moved to Caracas to continue at the Latin American Double Bass Academy under Maestro Félix Petit, and in parallel I started performing with several orchestras within El Sistema, Venezuela’s national orchestras program.
Being formed in a context that values music as a tool for personal and intellectual growth shaped my teaching. It gave me a broad, open view and an inclusive, flexible approach that adapts to each student’s needs and goals.
As a teacher, I have worked with recognized institutions such as the Latin American Double Bass Academy, the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music, the Faculty Orchestra of the Argentine Catholic University (UCA), and youth-orchestra education programs including El Sistema in Venezuela and Música para la Equidad in Buenos Aires, among others. I trained within El Sistema and spent ten years as a teacher and section coach in youth-orchestra programs, which is why I specialize in youth-orchestra preparation.
I have also performed as a double bassist with various orchestras and international projects, refining my craft on renowned stages.
Throughout my career, I have performed with symphony orchestras such as the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra (2007–2009), The Orchestra of the Americas (2008), the Caracas Youth Orchestra (2010–2013), the Simón Bolívar Baroque Orchestra (2015–2016), and the Florencio Varela Municipal Orchestra (2017–2019).
I’ve been invited to perform in double-bass sections including the Teatro Colón Philharmonic (2017) and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra (2010–2015).
With the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, I took part in international tours that included stages such as the Lucerne Festival (2010) under Claudio Abbado, the BBC Proms in London (2010), the Mahler Festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (2012), the Salzburg Festival (2013), and the Tchaikovsky Festival at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (2014) with Gustavo Dudamel.
I have also performed in major venues such as Royal Festival Hall in London, Henry Le Bœuf Hall in Brussels, Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, and the Philharmonie de Paris.
Later, in 2018, I earned a position as a double bassist and teacher with the Faculty Orchestra of the Argentine Catholic University (UCA).
In 2020, I was appointed Assistant Principal Double Bass with the Avellaneda Municipal Symphony Orchestra in Buenos Aires, and in 2023 I joined the Buenos Aires City Symphonic Band.
In 2025, I moved to Madrid to devote myself fully to independent projects.
