Guess what?

Talent doesn't exist.

Or at least, not the way it was sold to you. It’s not some magic gift a few people have and the rest don’t.

Almost everyone learning double bass on their own runs into the same thing: it’s not material they’re missing. There are thousands of videos out there. What’s missing is direction.

They practice a lot, going in circles, not knowing if what they played today has anything to do with their goal.

It’s not a lack of talent. It’s a lack of path.

And your reality is probably not that of a conservatory student with six free hours a day.

You have a job, a life, a loose half hour between things. That’s why a generic lesson doesn’t work for you — and why, before sending you random exercises, I need to know you.

In the first lesson I get to know your journey and your goals with the instrument, your current level, and how much real time you have. With that, I build your study plan.

Why go to that trouble, when I could just tell you in the lesson?

Because if after the first lesson we decide we’re not the right fit, I want you to walk away with something useful anyway. A clear path. With me, or with whichever teacher you choose.

You can do this too. And that shouldn’t depend on us staying together.

And if we continue? I don’t disappear between lessons. You write me when a question gets you stuck. That’s what I’m here for. Just don’t expect an instant reply (I also have a career to attend to).

The cost? The first lesson is $70. That’s where I get to know you, give you the diagnosis, and you walk away with a map made to your measure, by someone who knows the terrain. Whether we continue or not.

If you decide to continue, each lesson is $60.

I open 1:1 spots by season, when my orchestra calendar allows. If the button is active, there’s room. If not, it says right there when I’ll open again.

PS: The PDF map is yours from the first lesson, whatever you decide. It’s my gift — my way of making sure your progress doesn’t depend exclusively on me.
