About Course

My goal with this course is to guide you step by step through the fingerboard until you reach thumb position with confidence. Using a practical and organized method, you’ll recognize notes, scales, and fingerings without spending years with method books. Through progressive PDF exercises, adapted pieces, and piano accompaniments, you’ll be able to work on intonation, rhythm, and musicality at every stage. At the end, you’ll have a one-hour private online lesson with me to answer your questions and guide you in your next steps, whether that’s expanding your repertoire or preparing auditions with confidence.

What Will You Learn?

  • You’ll learn to tune the double bass using harmonics and recognize this important reference point.
  • You’ll be able to locate every note in the low, middle, and high registers of the fingerboard through practical, time-saving exercises.
  • Thumb position will feel natural as you place the hand by tones and semitones.
  • By the end, you’ll play pieces in the low, middle, and high registers of the instrument, as well as all major scales in two octaves.
