Double Bass Community Newsletter — Why this community exists

Playing in an orchestra is one of the most rewarding experiences a musician can have. We share rehearsals, trips, and stages, surrounded by friends and colleagues who become a real family. Each instrument finds its place and, together, we bring music to life that goes beyond any one person.

However, practicing at home is often a solitary path: long hours with the metronome, the double bass, and the mirror. Over time, that routine can feel discouraging; in those moments, motivation seems to fade. I’ve lived it too, and, importantly, I know consistency is key to growth.

For this reason, I created the Double Bass Community Newsletter—a space where every double bass player can feel they’re not alone, where others share challenges and celebrate achievements. Through the newsletter, you’ll receive not only exercises and practical resources but also the inspiration we all need to keep going, even on the hardest days. Ultimately, we may study the double bass individually, yet we enjoy it—and live it—much better together.
